Converged supports the Search Institute
Converged today announced its support for the foundation of the Search Institute, who's charter will be to sustain and fund research that finds it difficult to access conventional funding sources. The criteria for entry into the institute and funding will be that the research must be frontier enquiry at, or slightly beyond, the boundary of current knowledge, with eventual potential for commercialisation. It must be based on search for new knowledge and understanding, not re-hashing of existing knowledge. The Search Institute will give preference for cross domain search in the fields of cosmology, relativity, quantum mechanics, dimension theory, and technology. The CEO of Converged, Rhett Sampson, said: "The Search Institute is a long held ambition. Converged will, in time, enable the Institute to be realised. We will support the Institute with resources and funding. Converged will gift a portion of its profits to the Institute. That proportion will be determined by the board of Converged consistent with governance principles, the interests of our customers, shareholders and employees, and the interest of our community."
