We provide our services to you on a per phone or per seat, monthly fee basis. The base charge gets you our Smart Phone™ service. Then you can add on functionality in steps. Start with voice contact centre. Then add email, SMS, messaging. Maybe some voice announcements and information gathering (customer ID etc). Integrate that with your business systems, so client info appears with the communication (phone call, email, in bound or out bound). We can even do speech recognition if you want.
Converged also provides your communication services. We can do phone calls, messaging and Internet services. We can even do mobile with some unique mobile business features. Our policy is to be the most competitive in our market, which is mid sized business services. We are even more competitive than comparable Internet phone companies (note the use of the word comparable - see below).
Doing all this usually costs a lot, both in up-front capital equipment and in integration costs. Depending on your circumstances and what services you want from us, our aim is to do all this for the monthly fees per phone or seat, plus calls.
How? We have been building private networks for twenty years. To optimise costs in these days of competition and deregulation, you need to do two things:
 |
 |
Have the most efficient technology |
 |
 |
And negotiate very competitive call rates |

We have done both. Neither are easy to do, but we have been doing them for as long as it has been possible to do them in Australia. We learnt a thing or two along the way, and we are happy to pass on the benefit to you. You could do it the hard way if you want - go into battle with the telcos and the equipment suppliers. Or you could leave it to us. Either way, we think we'll be hearing from you - it's just a question of when. We look forward to comparing notes.
THERE'S INTERNET PHONE COMPANIES, AND THERE'S CONVERGED
Internet phone companies use the public Internet to carry your calls. That's why they are so cheap, or even free. But the old rule, "you get what you pay for", still applies. There really is no such thing as a free lunch. The thing is, the public Internet has no built in Quality of Service (QoS). Why is that important? Because phone calls need to be delivered in "real time", or you end up sounding like Donald Duck. The public Internet is essentially architected as a "store and forward, best efforts" network. Most of the time it works fine, especially for data. But when there is a peak load, data packets carrying your digitised speech start to get lost or delayed. That's the worst thing about it - the delay varies. Variable delay is the single worst thing for a phone network. It's extremely hard to compensate for. And you can bet that it will hit at the worst possible time, killing the call when you are closing that critical business deal. Murphy really was an optimist.
So what can you do? Well, you could spend enormous time, resources and effort ($) building a private network, or VPN, with telephony QoS engineered in, and use that. Or you could use ours. Converged has engineered our service to provide the same Quality of Service as the public phone network. Easy say, hard do. The old adage "a chain is as strong as its weakest link" really does apply here. But it is doable, if you know what you are doing. And we've done it, many times. And we've made sure you will still save as much, or more, than if you did it yourself or used an Internet service provider.
Here's how we did it.
